In March of
2003 District Administrator Michael Pobát submitted a request to
Williamsport for modification of the Virginia District 4 boundary.
His proposal was out of this world! The inclusion of Mars as part of
the district dominion was granted in the following month and accorded in a
letter from the Operations Department in Williamsport.
As Pobát expressed in the application, Little League baseball and a focus on science and technology can be a teamwork combination. With the current focus on Mars exploration, Little League baseball is an excellent platform for pointing young minds toward science and technology. District 4 supports that effort.
